There is very little new news to report on the New Duval County Courthouse project. As you can see by the photo taken by Reinhardt, the second floor of the building is nearing completion. Estimated percentage of completion of the second floor is approximately 75 percent.
The scaffolding which supported the second floor while it dried has been removed under the first quarter of the building.
Our hotdog man on the street, Brian reports, “I’ve heard they are getting ready to pour the crane mount on the far right of the courthouse. Once the first third of the building has been erected, the crane on the far left will be repositioned on the far right side.” “How about a dog while you’re here?” he asked. “Hey, another guy set up his hotdog equipment right at the front gate. I wish the city zoning team would check that out. It’s not fair that I have to follow all the vendor rules.”
I assured Brian that they were likely to shut the guy down once someone filed a complaint. Several vendors have moved in the area but so far the city parking patrol has made most of them leave the area. While wrapping my over-cooked (on purpose) sausage dog, Brian said, “Hey, the electricians have moved in.” Pointing in the direction not far from his stand, he said, “Those are their trucks over there.” Sure enough, approximately 6 electrician trucks were parked nearby. They appear to be working on the far left section of the courthouse under the second floor concrete.
On more note, Reinhardt is supposed to be posting another “bumper car” cement smoothing video on YouTube.
He also said something about posting a “quitin’ time” video.
